It's that time of year - Nutcracker has started! It may seem early but our first show is less then a week away. Actually, today we had our first dress rehearsal. I have been cast to dance in the waltz of the flowers; as one of the cavalry in battle scene; as a parent in the party scene and the chinese pas de deux in the second act. In the first cast, I will be performing both cavalry and male flower. So far, we have only been working on the first cast, so I am really grateful to be one of the four male dancers in the waltz of the flowers. I will be dancing the chinese and party scene in other casts. I am excited about the chinese and I hope I get more opportunity to rehearse, as the focus is preparing a first cast.
Our tour to Victoria is fast approaching. We will be flying to Vancouver Island on Tuesday of next week. I haven't been to BC's capital for four or five years. It will be my first tour with a ballet company that includes a flight. I am really looking forward to being in that beautiful city as well as experiencing the thrill of being on stage.
