It’s been a little quiet on the dance reality TV front, but auditions are underway for some of our favourite shows and we’ve got some updates for you!
So You Think You Can Dance changes format
Though
So You Think You Can Dance Canada didn’t live to see another season, the American version is back for its ninth season already in the auditioning stages.
And while we can look forward to catching some fresh spectacular routines this summer, FOX has decided to
scrap the results show and condense the two-episode-a-week show. Instead of fans getting their dance fix twice a week, the
SYTYCD will air once a week for two hours with eliminations happening throughout the show. The season begins
America’s Best Dance Crew holds casting calls in January
Who will join Jabbawockeez, Super Crew, Quest Crew, We Are Heroes, Poreotix and I.aM.mE in the champion's ring? Having already hit Chicago and Houston, the casting crew will be off to New York this weekend
searching for Season 7's best dance crew finishing off in Los Angeles at the end of the month.
We’re hoping they keep new judge Dominic “D-Tix” Sandoval and with last year’s all ages rule a big hit, hopefully we get to see the female version of ICONICcrew! The season begins in March/April 2012.
Dancing with the Stars
There has been no official announcement on the Season 14 cast, but
rumours include
Food Network’s Paula Dean (famous for passing the butter), possibly Jersey Shore’s
JWOWW, another Kardashian, and football sensation Tim Tebow.
I'm more curious to see which professional dancers will be hitting the floor. I hear
SYTYCD's Chelsie Hightower returns. And what about Maks? After last season's akward burstout, will he be coming back? The season begins Monday, March 19.
